So far the book has been a bit better compared to how it has been earlier. There has been more characters introduced a bit better including Robert who was a class loser now hanging out with the popular kids since now that The Wave started everyone is being more equal to each other. There has been a few more changes with “The Wave”. Firstly all of the history class now had great posture sitting up right with their ankles locked and there knees at a 90 degree angle. They then had to start at the front of the class then make their way to their desk and assume the proper sitting as fast as they could, each time quicker and quicker until they did it from outside in the hallway in sixteen seconds. The Student then started to ask and answer questions in a new way by standing on the side of their seats and when replying to Mr.Ross they had to say “Mr.Ross” then complete their sentence. All of the kids were amazed with the energy coming from them doing that. Ben was so really into this project, he had no clue that it would ever go this far. Also there has while Ben thought of more for the massive project the football team was using it making them play better, except there was also Laurie and her mother who think its bad. the next few days in school they were given a membership card to “The Wave”, if you had a red X on the back of your card you were a monitor, Brian and Robert were the monitors and they were to report back to Mr.Ross when people broke the rules. Making Robert a monitor really boosted his confidence with everything he now is part of the popular group and just now gets good grades and gets along with people, making friends. Yet if you never got a red X you were just a normal wave member. Mr. Ross also is letting all of the students in his class actually recruit more wave members to make the group as large as it can get which is attracting a lot of attention.

So far I think that the book is getting really close to a dramatic part. There has been a really good start on how the group is made and based on what the main things in a group that are needed and things that just make the group run, making the Wave a true group. I think that there has been amazing changes in Robert him being the class loser now he is one of the popular people with the amazing boost of confidence. My favourite character is probably Robert since he just seems like if he tries on anything it isn’t appreciated and I like how now that just a single little classroom experiment has boosted his confidence, made him feel happy and appreciated what he is not used too and he just feels amazing. I think that the Wave itself is actually getting to be more of a positive group then I thought it was going to be because of all of the conversations you read between Mr.Ross and his wife which makes him sound totally harmless. But the one thing that worries me is that the main quote from the cover of the book is “the classroom experiment that went to far” and that there are so many people getting into the group, yet there are a few that thinks it’s a bad idea including Laurie and her mother. I’m still not to sure what I think of this book this far yet even though we are at the halfway point I don’t really know enough about things in the book it seems not detailed enough or even the actions they are not of my liking I like having real live events happening throughout the book like in most of the books and series I read, this is kind of book not of my liking but its good for making you think of what is happening getting you interested of what the group is actually going to do, I guess that’s the power of a group. I usually wouldn’t like reading this for a normal spare book, but it is a good book that works on your brain for a novel study choice. In other words its just not my type of book.

How do you think Mr.Ross came up with the motto’s? why did he come up with them? what do you think they mean? How far do you think the wave is going to go before it gets stopped?? :D :)

I like how you talked about the characters alot and how they act!
What do you think will happen in the book?

  3. I kind of agree with you on the book being not my type of book. I like books with a fast beginning and more action. What do you like to read? I also like books that don’t really get you to think, but a good mystery book always sounds good to me!!

I find that interesting how if you look at the actions Mr.Ross is taking it seems like he is meaning it to go a certain way but then when it tells you his thoughts it makes everything look like a mistake that got carried away.
